Ghana Football Association President, Kurt Okraku, has announced a "minimum" GHC 1 million cash payment to Premier League clubs ahead of the 2025/26 football season.
This follows a new broadcast partnership between the country’s football governing body, the government - through the Chief of Staff, Julius Debrah - and rights holders Adesa Productions.
The deal was officially launched on Thursday, July 31, in Accra.
"Through this unique partnership with Adesa Productions, each one of our GPL clubs will, before of the start of the league season, receive the amount of a million Ghana cedis each,” Kurt said.
"This will be made possible through the new partnership. This will be our minimum payment for each of our GPL clubs under our new model.
"This is not a grant, it is a firm commitment by the Football Association, by Adesa Productions and by the government."
The partnership between the three parties puts an end to growing speculation about a potential return of StarTimes as broadcasters of the country’s top-flight competition.
The Chinese broadcaster was unable to reach an agreement with the GFA on terms for renewing their contract after it expired at the end of the 2023/24 football season.
The 2025/26 Ghana Premier League will kick off on weekend of September 12.
Defending champions Bibiani Gold Stars will battle 17 others for the ultimate.
