Asante Kotoko forward Albert Amoah says his goal against Hearts of Oak is an early Christmas gift to supporters of the club.
Amoah scored a late winner for the Porcupine Warriors late into their game against the Phobains on matchday 13 of the 2024/25 Ghana Premier League season.
The forward capitalised on a mix-up between Hearts duo Kelvin Osei Asibey and Benjamin Asare to score in the 95th minute and send the Baba Yara Stadium in a frenzy as the game ended 1-0 in favour of the home side.
Speaking to SuperSport Blitz after the game, Amoah was full of excitement having netted his seventh league goal of the campaign.
"I feel very excited and I am very happy to be here. I love my fans so much," the forward said.
"[For] all the supporters who came here, this [goal] is for the Christmas. They should take it and enjoy themselves."
Kotoko's win against Hearts means Prosper Narteh Ogum's side move above Hearts with the former also finishing the week in the sixth position.
Kotoko face 17th-placed Dreams Football Club in their next league game looking to make it three consecutive wins.
