Ghana Secondary Technical School (GSTS) SHS has progressed to the quarter-finals stage of the National Science and Maths Quiz (NSMQ) by beating St Francis Xavier Jnr and Ofori Panin SHS.
In the contest that took place on Monday at the University of Ghana, GSTS SHS, represented by Richmond Agyei-Kwakye and Kenneth Ponti Jnr emerged winners with 36 points.
St Francis Xavier Jnr was represented by Faustine Berebanoe and Macarius Segdong while Ofori Panin SHS was represented by Henry Agyare and Kennedy Kedani.

GSTS SHS and Ofori Panin SHS scored 5 points in the first round of the contest. St Francis Xavier Jnr secured 2 points in that round.
St Francis Xavier Jnr was unable to make a point in the second round maintaining their points in the first round whereas GSTS SHS and Ofori Panin SHS scored 8 and 5 points on the score table leaving both schools with 13 and 10 points.
Advancing to the third round, GSTS SHS led the contest with 23 points on the score table. Ofori Panin SHS secured 12 points with St Francis Xavier Jnr SHS following with 4 points.
Heading to the end of the contest, GSTS SHS led the score table with 33 points in the fourth round. St Francis Xavier Jnr followed with 20 points and Ofori Panin SHS secured 16 points.
At the end of the contest, GSTS led the contest with 36 points followed by St Francis Xavier SHS with 29 points. Ofori Panin SHS secured 16 points at the end of the fifth round.
