Wife of the late highlife legend Charles Kwadwo Fosuh, widely known as Daddy Lumba, has delivered a tribute to her late husband, affirming that no falsehood or malice can tarnish the memory of their love.
In a tribute read on her behalf during the final funeral rites held at Baba Yara Sports Stadium in Kumasi on Saturday, December 13, Priscilla Ofori, widely known as Odo Broni, recalled the honour, dignity, and joy her husband brought into her life, insisting that their shared bond stands as a testament against every cruel tongue.
“My king, my protector, if your spirit still walks among us, then let the truth itself rise as our vengeance. Let the love we share be the fire that consumes falsehood.
"Let the dignity with which you held me, the honour with which you lifted me, and the peace you gave me stand as testimony against every cruel tongue,” she said.
She made clear her refusal to let negativity affect her memory of their relationship.
“I will not bow to their malice; I will not let their venom stain the memory of what we wore. You treated me like a queen, you gave me a family, you gave me joy. That truth is eternal, and it will outlive every lie,” Odo Broni added.
Acknowledging the enduring presence of her late husband in her life, she said, “Though they seek to wound me, they cannot erase the truth that I was your joy, your peace, your chosen resting place. My husband, my king, though you are gone from this earth, you remain in my heart.”
Addressing mourners, she emphasised that the love they shared remains untouchable despite loss or adversity.
“Though I walk alone now, I will walk with the memory of your love, which no lie, no attack, no cruelty can ever erase. Let them speak, let them try, for I know the lion king still reigns in spirit and his roar will forever protect the love we shared.”
