The Jacobs-Abbey Global Institute for Leadership Studies (JAGILS Education Center) has demonstrated its commitment to practical leadership through an empowerment initiative for vulnerable children in Ghana.
Representatives from JAGILS Education Center, in collaboration with the Rolla Foundation, JAGILS Ghana Campus, and the Inspirers Alumni Network, made a kind donation of essential items to Cherub's Children's Home in Kumasi.
The initiative is part of the Institute's comprehensive corporate social responsibility program, which emphasizes the importance of community service in leadership development.
The donation ceremony was characterized by an atmosphere of goodwill and compassion as the children received both material support and refreshments from the JAGILS community.
The initiative garnered substantial support from the Institute's Board of Trustees, Advisory Council, faculty members, management team, current students, and alumni, all of whom contributed financially toward the project.
JAGILS Ghana Campus Coordinator, Vida Osei-Agyemang, spearheaded the initiative working alongside a team of staff members and student volunteers.
The philanthropic partnership exemplifies JAGILS' core educational philosophy of "Transforming Learners into Leaders."
Mrs. Osei-Agyemang highlighted how such initiatives helped instill leadership skills in the institute’s learners through empowering others.
“Through active participation in such initiatives, students gain practical experience in social responsibility, reinforcing the Institute's belief that authentic leadership extends beyond theoretical knowledge to encompass compassionate action,” she said.
Professor Dr. Samuel Jacobs-Abbey, Executive Director and Chief Learning Officer of JAGILS Education Center, elaborated on essence of exemplifying leadership through philanthropy.
“At JAGILS, we believe that education extends beyond classroom walls. As Marcus Aurelius wisely noted, 'What we do for ourselves dies with us. What we do for others remains and is immortal.' This donation drive represents our commitment to instilling values of compassion and community service in our students. By supporting Cherub's Children's Home, we not only provide immediate assistance but also demonstrate that true leadership begins with service to others."
The Jacobs-Abbey Global Institute for Leadership Studies is dedicated to developing transformative leaders through innovative education programs that emphasize academic excellence, ethical leadership, and community engagement.
