The highly anticipated debut of music reality show on Joy Prime, Cues and Lyrics is finally down to the top 12.
The auditions began with over 400 budding musicians thronging the Tigon Studios at Achimota-Accra, to exhibit their musical dexterity.
Talented artistes across Ghana, some for journeyed as far as 500 kilometres to the capital in the hope of tasting stardom.
All music genres, including rap, dancehall, singing, Afrobeat, highlife, gospel, and reggae, were represented.
The judges, Mix Master Garzy and Fortune Dane, had to narrow down the hundreds that turned up for the first day of auditions to only 40.
They settled on the 40 based on their delivery, creativity, uniqueness, confidence, and stagecraft after long deliberations, as the vocal talents demonstrated promise.
The shortlisted candidates got one more opportunity to impress the judges during the final round of auditions in order to be one of the final 12 participants in the maiden season of the reality show.
Well, the successful individuals had two minutes to demonstrate their musical prowess to the judges on the second day of the auditions.
After a fatiguing and nerve-wracking series of selection exercises to pick the best for the programme, the judges eventually decided on the 12 best talents to compete for the grand prize in the main show.
