As the number of confirmed cases of the novel coronavirus continues to rise, the Western Region has been dubbed the latest hotspot for the spread of the virus. Meanwhile, the Director-General of Public Health at the Ghana Health Service Prof Patrick Aboagye says Ghana’s daily Covid-19 cases are on a decline though he is worried the rate of decline has been slow.
Nurses and midwives have also accused the Ghana Health Service (GHS) of failing to ensure provision of PPE to members. So far, more than 800 of its members have been exposed to Covid-19, 87 test positive for the virus and one is dead.

At the corridors of power, 15 people including two Members of Parliament reportedly tested positive for COVID-19 as Minority MPs demanded a shutdown of Parliament for two weeks
This was after the House's Director of Public Affairs, Kate Addo earlier told a news conference that Parliament was yet to receive confirmation of any positive test.
Minority Chief Whip Mubarak Mohammed Muntaka was the one who revealed the status of those who had tested positive in parliament.
He also believes parliament’s continuous sittings have the potential of endangering the lives of MPs, staff and their constituents.
Hundreds of Police in Nima and Ashaiman in the Greater Accra region underwent mass testing for COVID-19 after 12 inmates tested positive for the novel coronavirus.
