The Korea Foundation for International Health (KOFIH) has provided the Dzindziso community in the Kadzjebi District of the Oti Region with a Community-based Health Planning Service (CHPS) Compound facility.
The initiative stems from the efforts of the Ghana Health Services and its partners to expand and ensure universal health coverage in the Oti Region.

KOFIH provided about GHȼIm to complete and furnish the facility which was at the lintel level. It was originally started by the former Member of Parliament for Akan, Joseph Kwadwo Ofori.

The Deputy Country Director of KOFIH, Ms Chae Eun Kim said the completion of the Dzindziso Health Centre represents an important milestone in efforts to provide quality healthcare to all Ghanaians.
“For the last decade, KOFIH has been working closely with the Oti Region, and we remain dedicated to continuing this partnership in the years ahead. So we are committed to ensuring that our collaboration continues to grow and make a lasting difference”, she said.

She expressed her gratitude to the Oti Regional Health Directorate and other stakeholders for supporting KOFIH in implementing the project.
The Oti Regional Health Director, Dr. Osei Kuffuor Afreh appreciated the continuous support of KOFIH in improving healthcare in the region, which includes the provision of infrastructure, equipment, and capacity-building programmes for staff.
“I would like to extend our sincere gratitude and appreciation to KOFIH for being the leading health partner in the Oti Region in terms of support for health service delivery”, he said.

Dr. Afre enlightened the residents on the functions of the CHPS compound which includes first aid and providing maternal and child healthcare, explaining that it is well equipped to deliver pregnant women of their babies and provide anti-natal and post-natal care.
He assured the Chiefs and people of Dzindziso of his outfit’s commitment to provide equipment and human resources complement those provided by KOFIH.

The Kadjebi District Director of Health Service, Eric Nana Takyi acknowledged the support of the traditional authorities and the Oti Regional Health Directorate for their role in ensuring sustainable access to essential healthcare by the residents of Dzindziso.
He also paid tribute to the forebearers of the project for their foresight and implored the staff to continue the yeoman’s job in their service to humanity.
The Kadjebi District Chief Executive, Wilson Kwami Agbanyo appreciated the initiative adding it marks “the beginning of a stronger and healthier for this community.”
