Asante Kotoko are set for a transfer window splurge in their bid to wrestle back the Ghana Premier League title for the first time in three years.
The Porcupine Warriors are within three points of league leaders Kpando Heart of Lions, following their Super Clash win over Accra Hearts of Oak.
However, Kotoko are not resting on their oars and will sign as many players as possible, to improve the current squad.

Albert Amoah Kotoko's top scorer with eight goals has contributed to 57% of the clubs goals this season
''There are a lot. We are going to see a lot of signings, that is if all things go well. We've started a lot of talking and then we are sure that we will get them (their transfer targets). So we are hoping and praying that things change and even if they do, they go in our favor so that we can augment the team.''
Ogum, who won the with Asante Kotoko in the 2021/22 season, failed to win it last term, also stressed the need for competition within the squad.
''Once we have more quality in the team, everybody wakes up. No one turns into a sleeper train because you know that when you lose your guard, someone is coming to play (in your stead),'' Ogum concluded.
Kotoko have already made one addition to the team by signing Kwame Poku on a free transfer.

Kwame Poku was unveiled on Sunday at the Baba Yara Stadium before Kotoko faced Hearts of Oak
The striker rejoined Asante Kotoko after two underwhelming stints North African sides USM Alger in Algeria, and later to Moroccan side Olympique Khouribga.
Although Poku has not been active in 18 months since leaving Khourigba in July 2023, Kotoko have made the investment with the view that he can augment the attack.
“He is happy to be back to the club to also contribute his quota. We know he had the eye for goal and that’s the reason we are bringing him on board to come score. Either he is scoring or he is assuring other teammates to also score,” coach Prosper Narteh Ogum said.
Meanwhile, the Porcupine Warriors have arrived in Accra ahead of Saturday's Ghana Premier League fixture with Dreams F.C at the Tuba Artificial Pitch.
