President John Dramani Mahama has commended Zambia’s efforts to stabilise its economy and strengthen democratic institutions.
Speaking to Zambia’s National Assembly, he described the improved performance of the Zambian Kwacha and ongoing reforms as positive signals for investors and regional partners.
“The improved performance of the Zambian Kwacha and the ongoing reform agenda send positive signals to investors and regional partners alike,” President Mahama said.
He also expressed confidence in Zambia’s democratic institutions ahead of its August 2026 general elections. Mahama stressed that Ghana trusts the Zambian people to conduct peaceful, free, and fair elections.
Highlighting the importance of bilateral collaboration, he said Ghana and Zambia have revitalised the Permanent Joint Commission for Cooperation to provide structured, results-oriented partnerships across trade, energy, mining, agriculture, education, youth development, and defence.
President Mahama concluded that the close partnership between Ghana and Zambia will strengthen regional resilience, enhance investment flows, and advance Africa’s collective economic and social progress.
