Joyce Bawah Mogtari, Special Aide and Senior Presidential Advisor to President John Dramani Mahama, has defended his recent appearance in military attire, describing it as an expression of patriotism and solidarity with the Ghana Armed Forces.
In a Facebook post on Friday, 11 April, Bawah Mogtari praised the former President’s decision to wear full military regalia at the graduation ceremony of the Regular Career Course 63 (RCC63) officers of the Ghana Military Academy.
She stated that Mahama’s appearance was not only fitting but also symbolic of his unwavering commitment to national unity and respect for the country’s security institutions.
“Today, our Commander-in-Chief, President John Dramani Mahama, appeared in full military regalia as a symbol of patriotism and in solidarity with the Ghana Military Academy,” she wrote.
The post was widely shared and sparked a wave of reactions on social media, with many commending the President for his show of national pride.
President Mahama’s presence at the ceremony was seen as a morale booster for the newly commissioned officers, further highlighting his continued engagement with the military even while out of office.
