Some youth of Nyohini in the Tamale Metropolis have arrested the central manageress of the Tamale Children's Home Mawulorm Afelete for allegedly smuggling food to her home town.
According to the youth, they had word in the past of similar activities but because they did not have evidence they could not act.
Leader of the group Abukari Jamaldeen said they were alerted five days ago that the suspect was planning to move some of the food out so they laid ambush since last night.
This morning, she moved the items to one of the lorry parks in Tamale were they finally confronted her.

Mr Jamaldeen said while she was being trailed they also took videos of her journey from the home to the lorry park.
He said the items included bags of rice, maize, cartons of Milo, milk, soap, diapers, baby foods like cerelac, drugs meant for the children, meat among others.
Mr Jamaldeen said the matter has been reported to the CID in Tamale.
Northern Regional Crime Officer Supretentant Bernard Baba Ananga confirmed madam Mawulorm was arrested but had been granted bail and is assisting the police with investigations.
