The mobile money vendor, Solomon Arhin, who was killed by an unknown assailant at Koforidua – Okorase, has been buried amidst calls by the family for an independent investigation into his murder.
The 37-year-old was walking home with his friend when they were attacked by his assailant on Saturday, June 19, around 11:00pm. The friend, escaped unhurt.
The funeral of late Solomon Arhin, who is a teacher by profession, was held in Koforidua, Saturday, July 24.
Colleague teachers, students and sympathizers could not hold back their tears when his remains were moved to Breman-Asikuma in the Central Region for burial.
The resident Pastor of the Pentecost International Worship Center (PIWC-Koforidua), Pastor Musa Yahaya consoled the family with the word of God, stating that "God works in mysterious ways in doing greater things therefore the bereaved family should be comforted and continue to trust in the Lord".

He also admonished the family to take good care of the widow and the children.
The late Solomon Arhin taught at Behenase Roman Catholic Basic School near Tinkon in Akuapem North Municipality. He was a Christian who fellowshipped with the Pentecost International Worship Center (PIWC) of The Church of Pentecost in Koforidua.

The deceased's friend, who survived the attack, said he only heard a gunshot which forced him to seek refuge.
According to him, he least expected that they could be attacked even though they saw a man walking towards their direction in the dark.
“We were walking home and while on our way we saw this tall guy coming from our direction in the dark. When we reached where he was, all that I heard was a shot. I didn’t see anything again because I had to run,” he explained.
“I decided to hide in a plantain farm but I was wearing a white shirt which was reflective, so I hid somewhere and called the 192 number to get help from the security.
The survivor said he returned from his hideout only to be told by his sister that his friend had been shot dead.
According to him, he found the deceased, who was shot in his chest, in a pool of blood.
"Whilst on the phone my sister called me telling me that my friend has been shot dead. I returned to the place and found him in a pool of blood”.
Two black backpacks containing cash of GH¢8,290.30, an HP Laptop with a charger, six mobile phones, a pen drive, a modem, earpiece, and some bank documents were found lying beside the victim.
Solomon left behind a pregnant wife and two children, a boy and a girl.
