The National Democratic Congress (NDC) has promised to help nurture sports talents by offering them scholarships to ensure they have a successful career.
The John Dramani Mahama-led party also has a package for retired sportsmen and women.
On page 63 of the manifesto, launched on Saturday, August 24, 224, the NDC intends to provide scholarships to promising sports talents.
"Offer scholarships to promising sports talents," a portion of point nine of the manifesto under Sports development said.
In addition to scholarships, the NDC has pledged to “invest in the establishment of sports academies in partnership with the private sector.”
Over the years, some retired Ghanaian sportsmen have accused successive governments of failing to come to their aid.
The NDC says, when voted into power later this year, they are committed to “support retired sports personalities in pursuing other sports-related careers after an active sporting life," point 10 stated.
