The National Democratic Congress Thursday, June 10, 2021 marked its 29th anniversary.
This is the first time in history, the party is marking its anniversary without party founder, Jerry John Rawlings.
At 29, the NDC has shared the spoils with the ruling New Patriotic Party (NPP), both winning four of the last 8 elections held in the country.
During the event at the party headquarters, General Secretary of the party, Johnson Asiedu Nketia touted the role of the party in the making of the 1992 constitution and how the party will forge ahead without founder Jerry John Rawlings.

He described the NDC as the most successful party since the country gained independence.
"NDC arguably is a political party that has a track record that will be difficult to beat by another party in this country. As it stands now it remains the most successful party in Ghana since our independence so we have every reason to be proud of our party," he said.
Also in attendance was the party's running mate for the 2020 elections Professor Naana Jane Opoku Agyeman, National Chairman Samuel Ofosu Ampofo, and the party's leadership in Parliament.
