The news analysis programme, Newsfile will on Saturday, October 28, discuss four topics including the crisis and plans ahead after the spillage of the Akosombo Dam, Global Info Analytics survey putting Vice President Dr Mahamudu Bawumia at 43.5% lead, the fight against galamsey and corruption.
The Volta River Authority (VRA) on September 15 opened the spillways of the Akosombo and Kpong Hydro Dams, causing flooding in nine districts across the country.
Homes and farms were destroyed in Battor, Tefle, Mepe, Sogakope, Adidome, and Anlo as well as parts of Greater and Eastern regions.
The victims are currently camped in schools, and other safe havens, while others perch with relatives.
The situation has moved many people, including the government, non-governmental organizations, and individuals, to donate relief items to the affected residents.
But is that the end of it? What big plans does the government have for these residents whose lives have been ruined by the flood?
Also, on the board for discussion is the New Patriotic Party's November 4 conference to elect a flagbearer out of the four contenders.
This conversation came up as Global Info Analytics ahead of the conference revealed that Vice President Dr Bawumia led with 43.5% support in a recent survey conducted.
But his campaign team has rejected the survey since Dr Bawumia surpassed that percentage during the Super Delegates conference held in August.
Meanwhile, other aspirants have also expressed their optimism in emerging victorious in the November 4 presidential primary.
Again, one might wonder if the government is making progress in the fight against galamsey, given the massive environmental devastation caused by the menace.
Well, that takes us to the last two topics – galamsey and corruption
