The New Patriotic Party is hoping to build on its electoral fortunes in the Volta Region, to enable it ‘break the 8’ in the 2024 presidential elections.
It has mapped out several initiatives and interventions to achieve this feat to keep the party in power.
In this vein, the Ketu South NPP Women’s Wing was inaugurated, aimed at mobilising members to serve as agents of the party to canvass for votes in the Volta Region.
The event was also used to launch a skills development program for members of the Women’s wing to contribute make them financially stable and self-reliant.
This forms part of the governing party’s objective to make the NPP attractive to people of the region - who have had a sweet love story with the opposition National Democratic Congress (NDC) in the fourth republic.

The NPP Volta Regional Women's Organiser, Hannah Ashade, who inaugurated the Wing reminded the members of their roles in winning elections, hence they must not put their shoulders to the wheel.
She said the Skill Development Program was launched to make women financially independent and to contribute spread wealth in the elephant fraternity.
“We have launched the Skill Development Program to help empower women. Empowering women is beneficial for women themselves, for society, for the country, for their families, and children.
"Women’s empowerment in the industry leads to economic growth and development of our motherland Ghana”, she said.
She said the program would be replicated in the rest 17 constituencies across the region to train women in solid and liquid soap making, batik tie, and dye among others.

Miss Asgard expressed gratitude to the party’s leadership and grassroots for their support to increase the NPP's popularity in the Volta Region.
