Aspiring Members of Parliament in the upcoming New Patriotic Party (NPP) primaries must show how they can maximize votes for the party in the December general elections, National Organiser, Sammi Awuku says.
Speaking to JoyNews in the build up to NPP’s April 2020 primaries, Mr Awuku explains demonstrating the ability to garner the highest possible votes for the party in would boost an aspirant’s chances of being approved by delegates.
Mr. Awuku also dismissed concerns that some constituency executives of the party can deliberately favour some aspirants over others, leading to unfair disqualifications.
He said if anyone is prevented from picking up forms to contest primaries in their constituency, the fellow can head to the regional office to pick forms or proceed to the national office of the party if the challenge persists.
He said the party has put in place rigorous measures to ensure fairness in the primaries.
