The government spokesperson on governance and security, Palgrave Boakye-Danquah says the New Patriotic Party talks very much because it does a lot.
He argues that the Akufo-Addo-led government has been able to improve Ghana’s economy during its seven years in power.
Speaking on Joy Prime’s morning show on Thursday, he asserted that the government has been able to do much in terms of development within its seven years in power in the education, economy to agriculture sectors.
He said, "We do too much in this country. We’ve done more than the NDC has ever done in the over 30 years they’ve had the opportunity to lead this country. The NPP talks too much because we do too much... We have made the Ghanaian economy a good system that’s working."
He based his argument partly on what he said is the fact that the Akufo-Addo/Bawumia-led administration has digitalised the Ghanaian economy, allowing people to access basic commodities from the comfort of their own homes.
The government spokesperson also talked of how salaries have been increased by the government since January this year and which has put smiles in the faces of public servants.
"The new patriotic party increased salary by 30%. It has taken effect and their first salary came in January. So, they're happy and working assiduously," he added.
Meanwhile, Palgrave Boakye-Danquah says he is confident that the cedi will no longer depreciate against the US dollar up to the end of the year.
"We’re in no doubt in our minds that the dollar is never going to appreciate against the cedi in the period that we have the opportunity to lead," he said.
Meanwhile Palgrave Boakye-Danquah is desiring to contest for the Abuakwa North in the upcoming NPP primaries.
