A medical practitioner, Dr. Frank Marful, has highlighted the critical role nutraceuticals play in promoting wellness and achieving smart nutrition for a healthier life.
Speaking at an event to mark World Health Day, organised by QNET, a global wellness and lifestyle-focused direct selling company, Dr. Marful emphasized the growing importance of nutraceuticals in modern healthcare.

The event, held on April 7 at the Marriott Hotel in Accra’s Airport City, brought together journalists, gym enthusiasts, medical professionals, and other stakeholders committed to healthy living.
Addressing participants, Dr. Marful explained that nutraceuticals—products derived from food sources with extra health benefits—are designed to go beyond basic nutrition to support optimal health, prevent chronic diseases, and enhance overall well-being.
He stressed the need for Ghanaians to embrace smart nutrition by integrating science-backed supplements into their daily routines, particularly in a time where poor diets and sedentary lifestyles are contributing to rising health challenges.

"These things that we usually grab conveniently are not as healthy as the ones that we can gather and put on the table and sit down to eat. So it's very important, so that we incorporate some of these nutraceuticals to help support us, pushing us a bit in this fast paced world, in this smart world, otherwise, we'll be losing a lot from these things that we eat, or we claim to eat."
"So just boiling the kontomires and all those things, the amount of nutrients you would have lost, you have no idea. So all these things are the reason why we should have some of these nutraceuticals to support and also help with our immune system."
QNET, known for its focus on wellness solutions, used the occasion to reiterate its commitment to empowering individuals with knowledge and products that promote holistic health and long-term vitality.
QNET's Global Compliance Officer, Naana Quartey, also addressed the event.

She used the occasion to deny any association with a case recently aired on Accra-based Peace FM involving an alleged victim of fraud.
The company described the incident as yet another example of individuals exploiting its name for personal gain — a problem it continues to confront head-on.

There was a short aerobic and gym routine session, a health and wellness sensitization talk, product workshop and tasting.
