Vice President and flagbearer of the New Patriotic Party (NPP), Dr. Mahamudu Bawumia, has been commended by the Ogua Traditional Council for his benevolence towards the 60th Anniversary celebration of the Fetu Afahye, as well as the 25th Anniversary of the enstoolment of Osabarima Dr. Kwesi Arthur.
Delivering a welcome address on behalf of the Council, the chairperson of the 60th-anniversary planning committee Charlotte Osei, expressed gratitude to Vice President Dr Mahamudu Bawumia, for his generous contribution towards renovating the Oguamanhene’s palace.
In June this year, Dr Bawumia, while paying a courtesy call on the Oguaamanhene and the Oguaa Traditional Council, promised to help renovate the palace as a gift to Osabarima, on the 25th Anniversary of his enstoolment as Oguaamanhene, and also for the 60th-anniversary celebration of the Fetu Afahye Festival.
Dr Bawumia was among the dignitaries who attended the grand durbar to climax the celebration, held in Cape Coast on Saturday.
The Asantehene, Otumfuo Osei Tutu II, made a historic journey to Cape Coast to grace the occasion.
