Ten others are said to have sustained various degrees of injuries in the crash, involving a Toyota Corolla vehicle and a Metro Mass bus at Ekumfi Akwakrom.
The bus with registration number GS 2614-17 was commuting from Accra to Takoradi whilst the Toyota Corolla with registration number GV 22-14 was travelling from Mankessim in the opposite direction.

Some survivors, who were on board the Metro Mass bus, in an interview with Adom News’ Kofi Adjei said the driver saw the oncoming vehicle but could do little to avert the crash since there was a ditch nearby.
The driver of the Toyota Corolla died on the spot whilst 10 passengers, including the driver of the Metro Mass bus, got seriously injured.
The Injured people are receiving treatment at the Mankessim Roman Catholic Hospital.
Meanwhile, the body of the deceased, who is yet to be identified, has since been deposited at Saltpond mortuary for preservation and autopsy.
