One person has died on the spot with six others seriously injured after an accident in the Gomoa Assin township on the Winneba-Mankessim Highway.
The accident occurred on Thursday after a Toyota Land Cruiser with the registration GR 2444-25 collided with a Toyota Sienta with the registration AS 5853-19.
Fire Service personnel who visited the scene told Adom News that the Toyota Sienta driver was on its way from Mankessim to Accra while the Toyota Land Cruiser was travelling in the opposite direction.
Upon reaching a section of the road, the Toyota Sienta driver made a wrongful overtaking, colliding with the Toyota Land Cruiser.
One of the passengers in the Toyota Sienta died on the spot, while four and two others in the Toyota Land Cruiser sustained injuries.
They have been sent to the St. Luke’s Catholic Hospital at Apam while an investigation has commenced into the incident.
