One person has been reported dead after a Kia Daewood truck rammed into the New Patriotic Party (NPP) office at Oko Dan in the Adentan Municipality of the Greater Accra Region.
One person is also said to have been injured in the accident which occurred on Tuesday afternoon.
Both victims have been identified as food vendors who sell along the road.
The truck with registration number GE 4831-22 was transporting crates of beer when the unfortunate incident happened.
Reports indicate that, the accident occurred when the driver lost control as a result of a brake pad malfunction.
A member of the Public Relations Officer (PRO) department of the Ghana National Fire Service (GNFS), ADO1 Alex King Nartey, announced in a video shared on its Facebook page that the Electricity Company of Ghana (ECG) had to cut power supply to the area.
“One of the victims, who is a waakye seller is in a critical condition and has been rushed to the hospital. The other person feared dead is a kenkey seller who the truck run over,” he narrated.
Road safety workers also arrived at the scene to tow the vehicle.
Fire Service and police officers were also at the scene to attend to the situation.
