Ghana has been offered two wildcard entries for swimming at the upcoming Paris 2024 Olympic Games by the World Aquatics, FINA.
The decision was taken after the ratification of the results from the 2023 African Games held in Accra at the Borteyman Sports Complex.
The eleven swimmers who competed for Team Ghana at the continental event could not meet the required times for an automatic qualification.
Abeku Jackson, who won the country’s only two medals – gold and silver, in the sport is expected to be selected together with one other compatriot.
Jackson participated in the 2016 and 2020 Olympics via the wildcard route.
The exact swimmers are unknown. However, in the coming months, World Aquatics will send an official message to the Ghana Swimming Association on the two exacts who will participate at the Olympics.
