The Ghana Police Service has taken disciplinary action by interdicting Police Officer № 49187 General Corporal Wise Bessey, who is stationed at the Takoradi District Police Command.
This action follows allegations of assaulting a member of the public in Takoradi, Western Region.
In a Facebook post on Friday, February 2, the police stated that the interdiction was implemented to facilitate a comprehensive investigation into the incident, aligning with Police Service Regulations.

Furthermore, the victim has been contacted by the Inspector-General of Police (IGP), Dr. George Akuffo Dampare, who assured the individual of necessary police assistance and a thorough investigation into the matter.
Meanwhile, the police have affirmed their commitment to ensuring that their officers professionally conduct themselves.
“We would like to assure the public that the Police will continue to ensure that professionalism is maintained at all times in the discharge of our mandate.”
