Management of newly-promoted Women’s Premier League side, Ridge City Football Club, on Thursday, July 21, held a dinner award for the players and technical team following a successful 2021/22 season.

The Panthers finished top of the GARFA Women’s Division One League before securing a Premier League spot after featuring in the Middle League.

The awards night, which took place at Pot Belly Shark in Accra, was to appreciate the efforts of the technical team and the players for securing promotion to the top flight.

Speaking at the event, the owner and Chief Executive Officer of the club, Cleopatra Nketiah, expressed appreciation to the players, technical team and to everyone who played a role in their promotion to the Premier League.

"To everybody here - we have been through highs and lows - some happy days and some very insulting days. Some days, some people cried and some wanted to leave the club but then we are all here," she said.

"I thank and appreciate everybody. Despite what has been said, done and seen, it's all love. We are trying to get somewhere and sometimes things go wrong but at the end of the day, we are all still here and doing what we can do to help. Because of that, this is where we are moving to - the Premier League."

According to her, promotion looked scary in the latter part of the season but they fought their way to earn a ticket.

Ridge City Football Club were one of four teams to have secured entry to the top flight, a feat that has been the club's dream since its establishment in 2017.
