A new chapter in Ghana's higher education landscape officially began in early January as Rosebank International University College (RIUC) opened its doors to its first-ever class of students.
The landmark event, held at the university's ultra-modern campus in the prestigious Airport Residential Area, follows a highly competitive admissions cycle that saw more than 1,000 applicants vying for a few hundred coveted spots.
The launch of RIUC marks the first major international expansion for the ADvTECH Group, Africa’s largest private education provider.
By establishing its footprint in Accra, the group aims to provide world-class, career-focused qualifications that align with the demands of the Fourth Industrial Revolution (4IR).
A Historic Milestone for African Leadership
Addressing the pioneering students, Dr. Linda Meyer, President of RIUC, emphasised that the university is more than just an academic institution; it is a hub for Pan-African excellence.
“Today marks an historic step as we welcome our pioneering inaugural cohort. Backed by ADvTECH’s pan-African vision, our accreditations, global partnerships, and GETFund support, RIUC is delivering inclusive, innovative education that prepares students for success in the Fourth Industrial Revolution and beyond, while rooting excellence in African leadership,” Dr. Meyer stated.
She further noted that these students are now part of a transformative movement in the region:
“As they step onto the modern campus in Accra for the start of the 2026 academic year, these pioneering students are not only beginning their higher education but also contributing to a significant milestone in Ghana's tertiary landscape. They are positioned to become future leaders, innovators, and global professionals who will drive meaningful progress both locally and internationally.”
Cutting-Edge Faculty and Global Ties
RIUC’s curriculum is specifically designed to bridge the skills gap in the Ghanaian and global workforce. The inaugural cohort will pursue high-demand degrees across three main faculties: Commerce, ICT, and Hospitality.
The university has secured robust strategic alliances to ensure global mobility for its graduates. Partnerships include the Ghana Tertiary Education Commission (GTEC), the Association of African Universities, and the Golden Key International Honour Society, which provides high-achieving scholars with access to a worldwide professional network.
Student Life: Beyond the Classroom
The Opeibea House campus is equipped with state-of-the-art facilities, including facial recognition security systems and immersive learning labs. Students at RIUC are not confined to local borders; the university’s unique model offers a gateway to international experiences.
“Our new students can look forward to international exchange programmes, immersive study abroad opportunities, and access to globally recognized qualifications,” Dr. Meyer added.
RIUC offers accredited programmes across its faculties, including high-demand qualifications such as:
- Bachelor of Computer and Information Sciences
- Bachelor of Commerce in Supply Chain Management
- Bachelor of Hospitality Management
- Bachelor of Computer and Information Sciences in Application Development
- Bachelor of Information Technology in Business Systems
- Bachelor of Commerce in Digital Retail Entrepreneurship
Final Call for 2026 Registrations
With the first semester now underway, university management has indicated that very limited space remains for the second intake of the 2026 academic year.
Prospective students and parents are urged to visit the campus or register online at www.riuc.edu.gh/application---registration to secure their place in this historic inaugural year.
