The Saboba Traditional Area Paramount Chief, Ubor Bowan John Mateer Sakojim IV, has urged chiefs and opinion leaders in the Zogbie enclave to initiate dialogue between the feuding factions involved in the recent clashes to bring an end to the hostilities.
The chief stated that the clash should be treated as a localised and isolated issue, stressing that open communication and understanding are key to achieving lasting peace in these communities.
His call for peace follows a communal clash in Zogbie on Tuesday, August 6, 2024, over a parcel of land, which tragically resulted in the death of four people.
In a statement, Ubor Bowan John Mateer Sakojim IV urged the factions not to view each other as enemies but to work together in unity to combat poverty and underdevelopment in the area.

He also called on the youth to refrain from making inflammatory comments that could escalate the situation and urged everyone to avoid spreading falsehoods and unverified information on social media, as these actions could worsen the already volatile situation.
The paramount chief also implored security personnel to restore peace to act with firmness and fairness towards all involved.
He called for a thorough investigation to bring the perpetrators of these heinous crimes to justice and stated that the region requires a peaceful and stable environment for development.
Ubor Bowan John Mateer Sakojim IV extended his condolences to the families of the victims affected by the unfortunate incident.
