Sinapi Aba Trust is building significant momentum in youth development across Ghana through its flagship, Youth Apprenticeship Program.
The program recently saw the graduation of 290 young people in Koforidua and Suhum who underwent extensive skills training and development in various vocational and technical disciplines.
The initiative has, over the years, produced over 5,500 graduates and currently has close to a thousand more trainees undergoing skills training in various regions.
Speaking at the graduation ceremony, Rev. Justice Kwaku Asumeng of the Koforidua District of the Presbyterian Church of Ghana admonished the graduates to harness whatever skills they developed during the training.
“Use their new skills responsibly and become productive citizens” he said.
He further encouraged them to commit to supporting other youth in achieving their dreams.
Since its inception in 2023, the program has expanded its reach, providing training to youth in 35 different locations nationwide.
Some of the youth who benefited from the mentorship program highlighted how impactful the program has been.
Eunice Amoah, a beneficiary said “this training has really been beneficial to me, I didn’t have any hands on skills but through mentorship program, I can sew and bake on my own”.
Ntiamoah Clement, another beneficiary said “I really wanted to be a fashion designer but I didn’t have money to join a fashion designing school, but I was fortunate to get this training by Sinapi Aba”.
