The Speaker of Parliament, Alban Sumana Kingsford Bagbin, has announced that the seventh meeting of the fourth session of the eighth Parliament will take place at the Grand Arena of the Accra International Conference Centre (AICC).
This was contained in a notice issued on Wednesday, December 11, 2024, and serves as an official appointment of the venue for the parliamentary session following an earlier summons issued on December 2, 2024.
The meeting is expected to bring together Members of Parliament (MPs) and other parliamentary officials to address legislative matters.
Alban Bagbin had previously announced the recall of the House to convene on Monday, December 16, 2024, at 10 am.
The recall comes after the Speaker declined a request by the NPP caucus leader, Alexander Afenyo-Markin to reconvene the House earlier.
Alban Bagbin in a memo to the NPP caucus leader on November 26, explained that Parliament would resume after the general elections to complete essential matters and ensure a seamless transition to the ninth Parliament of the Fourth Republic.
He also emphasized the importance of decorum in parliamentary proceedings and urged MPs to prioritize the national interest.
