The Minister for Youth and Sports, Mustapha Ussif, has declared that the government of Ghana will support the proposed partnership between FC Barcelona and Kenpong Football Academy.
Ussif made this known when the director of scouting for FCB, Mr Paolo Araujo paid a courtesy call on the Minister at his office in Accra.
Hon Ussif expressed joy at the visit describing the proposed partnership between FCB and KFA as the citadel of hope for the youth of Ghana.
"As a government and a Ministry [of Youth and Sports], we will do whatever we can to support this marriage between FC Barcelona and Kenpong Academy.
"We are going support you to help develop more talents," Ussif said.
He added that the proposed partnership is a vehicle for the creation of unlimited and ever lasting opportunities in football for the youth of the country.
Through the proposed partnership, the Minister expressed the hope that the youth may be provided several opportunities including careers in football and jobs in football related activities.
The Minister promised FCB through Mr Paolo Araujo that the Government of Ghana would do everything within its power to offer the necessary support for the proposed partnership to come into fruition.
The Hon Minister underscored the high quality brand and towering influence of FCB in world football vis-a-vis the huge talent pool for football in Ghana. He was hopeful that FCB and KFA would build a lasting synergy for their mutual benefits.
On his part, Mr Paolo Araujo welcomed the support of the Government to the proposed partnership. He was happy to meet the Minister of Youth and Sports.
Mr Araujo informed the Minister that from his wide and extensive travel experiences with private Football Academies, he was confident to declare facilities at Kenpong Football Academy as the best in west Africa.
He was equally hopeful that FCB and KFA would work hard and expedite steps towards the realization of the proposed partnership between the 2 organizations.
Mr Araujo expressed the hope that the proposed partnership would be mutually beneficial for the 2 excellent brands (FCB & KFA) to maximize their fullest potentials.
