Stonebwoy reacts to military presence in Ashaiman

Reggae/Dancehall musician Stonebwoy is disturbed by the news of the alleged brutalisation of Ashiaman residents by soldiers on Tuesday dawn.

This comes after soldiers stormed Ashaiman looking for answers following the alleged stabbing to death of their colleague by unknown assailants in the area.

Taking to his social media handles, Stonebwoy condemned both the military’s actions and the alleged murder of the late officer calling them “acts of violence and lawlessness.”

The ‘Baafira’ hitmaker prayed that the men found culpable in these cases are brought to justice.

“It's 9 am in New York and I'm just waking up to the news of what's going on in my beloved Ashaiman. I unequivocally condemn all acts of violence and lawlessness, whether it relates to the brutalisation of innocent civilians or the unlawful killing of a member of the armed forces. May all those culpable be found out and made to face the law fully,” Stonebwoy’s post read.

Others are allegedly flogged or manhandled if they flout the military’s directives.

This man said agitated soldiers whipped him

Ashaiman MP Ernest Norgbey confirming it to Accra-based Starr FM described it as an ‘unofficial curfew’.
