The Leader of the Women’s Caucus in Parliament, Comfort Doyoe Cudjoe, has urged Vice President Professor Naana Jane Opoku-Agyemang to continue supporting President John Dramani Mahama with wise and constructive counsel.
Doyoe Cudjoe made the call during a courtesy visit by the Women’s Caucus of Parliament to the Vice President at the Jubilee House on Friday, June 27, 2025.

The visit was to commiserate with the Vice President and reaffirm their support following her return from an extended medical leave.
Speaking on behalf of her colleague Members of Parliament, Doyoe Cudjoe said, “Continue to be a mother to the nation. Just as a mother offers comfort, wisdom, and nourishment to her home, so do we believe your guidance and counsel can enrich the Presidency and help advance our shared national aspirations. Support His Excellency the President with your insight and motherly advice, and let your presence continue to be strongly felt at every table where decisions are made for the good of Ghana.”

Deputy Minority Leader, Patricia Appiagyei, also emphasised the need for women to rise above divisive politics and unite in service of God and country.

Call for Women Empowerment
Vice President Prof. Jane Naana Opoku-Agyemang, in her response, encouraged the MPs to be intentional about using their positions to uplift other women.
"The important question is, now that we are here, what are we doing with the opportunity? It cannot just be about us. As the Good Book says, ‘Not unto us!’ It must be about how we use that opportunity to bring others up," she stated.

"And when we talk about others, we can focus on young women. There are enough young girls in our constituencies whom we can build up. At the same time, we also need to pay attention to the young boys and girls — the next generation."
The visit concluded with a prayer for the Vice President, led by the Member of Parliament for Krachi West, Rev. Helen Adjoa Ntoso.
