Nigerian musician Tiwa Savage, has officially lodged a complaint with the Lagos Police Command, alleging a threat of assault and 'grievous' bodily harm from her colleague, Davido.

In her letter to the police, she explained that the discord in her relationship with Davido surfaced following her association with his former partner and the mother of his daughter, Imade.

The incident unfolded when Tiwa Savage shared a picture of herself with Sophia Momodu on her Instagram story on December 23, 2023.

“MR DAVID ADELEKE messaged my manager who’s also part of his management team that I should never say a word to him and that I was taunting him, uttering very disrespectful, malicious and derogatory words to my person," she stated.

Tiwa Savage claimed that in turn, she asked Davido not to contact her again especially since she has always been a support system for his daughter Imade and him when his son passed.

However, the singer stated that “the events of that day have led to a barrage of calls from our mutual connections, asking me what I did to him that he’s upset that I chose to maintain a relationship with his daughter Imade’s mother, Sophia Momodu who he’s having issues with and also painting the situation to look like I was the aggressor.”

Tiwa Savage alleged that Davido sent her a warning through their mutuals telling her to “be careful in Lagos because he was going to f**k me up.”

The ‘All Over’ hit-maker noted that this interaction is beginning to feel like an online and offline harassment of herself and her team.

“The actions of Mr David Adeleke are unethical and can be viewed as a direct threat to my rights to life, privacy and dignity of my person,” she added.

“I, therefore, would like to make this complaint, and to state that in the event that anything untoward or harmful were to happen to me and any member of my family, I will like the Nigerian Police Force to hold MR DAVID ADELEKE responsible.”

This comes nearly a day after the ex-husband of Tiwa Savage, Tunji Balogun popularly known as Tee Billz, called out Davido for bullying Tiwa Savage.

Tee Billz via his Instagram page, had queried what people would do if someone threatened to send “boys [thugs] to the mother of your son and this is the third time he’s bullied her”.
