The Wa East District is set to benefit from the government’s free primary healthcare policy with the introduction of a mobile health kiosk, following an announcement by the Member of Parliament for the constituency, Dr Godfred Seidu Jasaw.
The MP disclosed this during a brief ceremony at the Bulenga Health Centre, describing the initiative as a game-changer aimed at bringing basic healthcare services closer to communities, particularly those in hard-to-reach areas.
Dr Jasaw revealed that Bulenga has been selected as one of the pilot sites for the mobile health kiosk, which will be fully equipped to deliver immediate primary healthcare services to residents within the catchment area.

He explained that the facility will focus on addressing basic health needs at the community level, including early diagnosis and treatment, while more severe or complicated cases will be promptly referred to the Bulenga Health Centre, which has been earmarked for expansion and elevation to a polyclinic.
As part of the preparatory steps for the project, the MP called on the Paramount Chief of the Bulenga Traditional Council to support the initiative by identifying a suitable, secure, and easily accessible location within the community for the establishment of the kiosk to ensure maximum utilisation and impact.

The announcement was made during a handing-over ceremony of assorted healthcare delivery equipment to the Bulenga Health Centre, a move that further highlights Dr Jasaw’s broader commitment to strengthening healthcare delivery and improving access to quality health services across the Wa East District.
