Finance Minister, Ato Forson, has expressed confidence that the country has the potential to reset its economy, provided there is discipline in its financial practices.
Speaking at the National Economic Dialogue which opened in Accra on Monday, 3rd March, Mr Forson emphasised the importance of fiscal responsibility and commitment to sustainable economic policies saying "We can reset our economy, we can do this, we just have to be disciplined and understand that the short term gains today have a long term consequences on our country".
The ongoing National Economic Dialogue is part of the government's effort to bring together various stakeholders to discuss strategies for rebuilding Ghana’s economy amidst challenges such as inflation and debt.
Mr Ato Forson highlighted that while Ghana is currently facing significant economic difficulties, a concerted effort towards fiscal discipline could pave the way for recovery and growth.
The Finance Minister also reiterated the government's commitment to implementing key reforms aimed at stabilising the economy.
Previously, he pointed out that the government was focused on addressing fiscal imbalances, reducing public debt, and enhancing revenue generation.
