The President of the Ghana Journalists Association (GJA), Mr Albert Kwabena Dwumfour, has lauded the journalists and staff of Pure FM for their unwavering commitment to professionalism and courage in the face of a recent fire incident.
Addressing the press on Thursday, July 31, Mr Dwumfour praised the Pure FM team for demonstrating resilience and perseverance, saying their conduct reflects the highest ideals of journalism even under challenging circumstances.
“We commend the journalists and staff of Pure FM for their courage, professionalism, and perseverance in the face of adversity,” the GJA President said.
He expressed the Association’s solidarity and steadfast support for Pure FM, assuring the station of full backing as it faces a challenging period.
“The GJA stands firmly with Pure FM in this difficult time and will continue to offer all necessary support to see the station rise again stronger and more resilient than ever,” he said.

One of Kumasi’s popular radio stations, Pure FM, went off air on Wednesday, July 23, 2025, after a fierce overnight fire destroyed its studio equipment.
According to eyewitnesses, the late Wednesday night fire took over three hours to bring under control.
Authorities confirmed that no injuries were recorded.
