WorldFaze Art Practice is set to host Between and Almost Far from Hard Walls, a solo exhibition by Ghanaian emerging artist Frank Coffie.
The opening reception for Between and Almost Far from Hard Walls will be held on Saturday, August 1, 2026, at 6:00 pm at WorldFaze Art Practice, Nii Okan Avenue, GD-063-6238, Ogbodjo.
The exhibition, which marks Coffie’s first solo show in Ghana at WorldFaze Art Practice, explores themes of love, resilience, family and the strength found in independence.
According to the organisers, Between and Almost Far from Hard Walls presents a deeply personal yet culturally resonant body of work that examines emotional and psychological spaces shaped by vulnerability, endurance and memory.
Working with paint and yarn, Coffie blends fine art and textile practice to create portraits and figurative compositions marked by texture and symbolism.
Strands of yarn woven across painted surfaces become both material and metaphor, transforming each piece into what the organisers describe as “an act of connection, resilience and storytelling.”
The exhibition also draws on Ghanaian cultural nuances, using gesture, texture and symbol to evoke memory, belonging and intergenerational knowledge. Through these layered surfaces, everyday experiences and collective memory are brought into conversation with broader ideas of family, culture and selfhood.
WorldFaze Art Practice says the exhibition invites audiences to reflect on the visible and invisible structures that shape human experience, including family, love, memory and identity, while questioning how people create meaning within and beyond personal and societal boundaries.
“In Frank Coffie’s hands, yarn becomes a language, painting becomes a testimony, and the act of creating becomes an affirmation of endurance, connection, and becoming,” the gallery said in a statement.
WorldFaze Art Practice noted that the exhibition forms part of its commitment to supporting innovative contemporary artists whose work challenges convention and encourages meaningful dialogue.
