Hasaacas Ladies failed to seal an early spot in the final of the 2025/26 Women’s Premier League season following their draw against Police Ladies on Saturday.
The defending champions broke the hearts of the Hasmal Ladies in additional time as they played out a 1-1 stalemate.
Hasaacas came into the game knowing a win would secure them a zonal title and book them a place in the final scheduled for next month.
Milot Pokuaa opened the scoring from the penalty spot in the 13th minute after they were handed an advantage from a handball in the penalty box.
After going down, Police Ladies took control of the game and created loads of chances but couldn’t capitalize on their moment.
Hasaacas were bailed out on a few occasions by goalkeeper Grace Banwaa.
However, she couldn’t keep out an effort late into the game as Police struck to level the score and spoil Hasaacas’ party.
The result means the Takoradi-based side must win their remaining game next weekend to finish top of the league in the Southern Zone.
In other results in the Southern Zone, Army Ladies beat Jonina Ladies to close the gap between themselves and Hasaacas to one point.
Oak Ladies also defeated Samartex Ladies 2-1 while Halifax Queen picked up their third win of the season against Soccer Intellectuals sealing a 2-0 victory.
Epiphany also came from a goal down to beat LadyStrikers 2-1.
The final round of games is scheduled for next weekend.
