An Associate Director, Tax and Regulatory, at Deloitte, Gilbert Yirenkyi-Addo, has won the 2025 Deloitte Chief Executive Officer (CEO) Impact Award.
At the same time, a Manager, Tax and Regulatory, Theresa Somuah, also of Deloitte Ghana, was a runner up with two others in the Africa region.
They were selected out of 211 talented Deloitte professionals across Africa.
The firm described the winners as demonstrating a deep commitment to making a positive difference both within Deloitte and in the wider communities in which they operate. “Their dedication and passion serve as an inspiration to us all, showing that purposeful leadership and selfless service are at the heart of our collective success”, the firm added.
Gilbert described the award as an honour, pointing out that “receiving this award was quite emotional for me”.
“It is a validation of the dedicated hard work I’ve poured into my role, but more importantly, it recognises my commitment to the development of my team. I have always believed in having a listening ear to appreciate the personal and career challenges of my colleagues, and having that soft skill recognised by the leadership of Deloitte Africa means the world to me”, he added.
Theresa also reacted saying, “This achievement is a testament that no matter where you are, your efforts to lift others up will always be noticed and duly appreciated”.
In a related development, Theresa’s team made up of seven professionals has received the 2025 Africa Tax & Legal Employee Recognition Awards.
