A 12-year-old boy has been reported dead after being knocked down by a VIP bus on his way to school.
The gory incident is said to have happened around 7:00 am on Thursday, February 11, at Asante Akyem Adansi in the Ashanti Region.
The unidentified 12-year-old, according to witnesses died at the spot after being hit by the bus.
According to witnesses, the VIP bus with registration number AS 5253-19 was returning from Accra and heading to Kumasi.
Some witnesses who spoke to Adomnews stated that the incident occurred as a result of the carelessness of the VIP bus driver.
"The driver of the VIP bus was overtaking when he got to a curve. The young child had crossed the road when the driver hit the young child.
"The taxi behind the bus suddenly stopped. There were about 15-20 passengers in the bus together with some goods," Nana Yaw Agyapong said.
Adwoa Alima, mother of the deceased who was distraught by the death of her son expressed her grief said she had heard of the incident through a phone call.
She revealed that her ward who is in Primary 2 left home around 7:00 am to school.
Meanwhile, driver of the VIP bus with registration number AS 5253-19 has been apprehended by the Regional Police Command.
