Two people are receiving treatment at the Kasoa Polyclinic after their homes got flooded during yesterday's heavy downpour.
The rains, which lasted over five hours also washed away two cars at Kasoa Anor Town in the Awutu Senya East Municipality of the Central Region.
In an interview with Adom News, some of the residents whose rooms got flooded accused the Kasoa Assembly of not desilting gutters within the municipality ahead of the raining season.
They are also appealing to Mavis Hawa Koomson, the MP for the Constituency, who is also the Special Development Initiatives Minister to come to their aid immediately.
"Yesterday was not a good day for us. The whole place was flooded. I went round with some members of our Unit Committee and passing through the flood was difficult.
"The rain was almost at my chest level and we could hear people in their homes crying for help. There was almost nothing we could do. We had no choice than to call NADMO," Assemblyman for Opeikuma - Chrispo City Electoral Area, Alex Freku said.
Aspiring MP for Gomoa East Constituency, Nana Agyeman, whose car was among those washed away, blamed the contractor in charge of the construction of the Old Timers to Anor Town Road.
He accused him of a shoddy work done especially with regards to the nature of the gutters accompanying the road construction.
Thursday's rains according to NADMO left over 80 per cent of Kasoa township flooded.
