The Ghana Police Service has interdicted two officers, Lance Corporal Philimon Agbevem and Lance Corporal Peter Gbadagbo, over allegations of extorting money from a motor pillion rider in Accra.
The alleged incident took place on July 22, 2024, and gained widespread attention after going viral.
In response, the police swiftly launched an investigation into the matter on August 9, 2024.
The two officers are currently cooperating with the investigation and will be subjected to the due process of law, according to a brief police statement.
