Prince Tweneboah's solitary goal proved decisive as Basake Holy Stars claimed a hard-fought 1-0 victory over Samartex in the Ghana Premier League on Sunday at CAM Park.
Basake Holy Stars attacker Prince Tweneboah's first-half strike sealed all three points, making it two wins in a row at home for the debutants.
Prince Tweneboah's fifth goal of the season moved the debutants to 10th position on the table, five points off the relegation spot.
The defending champions, Samartex, now 9th on the league table with 17 points, have lost two consecutive matches for the first time this season.
Nurudeen Amadu's side has now lost to two debutant teams, suffering a double 1-0 home loss to Young Apostles and Basake Holy Stars, respectively.
Samartex, the reigning champions, will look to revitalize their form when they host in-form Heart of Lions on matchday 13. Abdulai Gazale's side will aim to sustain their current form at home when they meet Young Apostles.
