A senior lecturer at the Ghana Institute of Journalism (GIJ), Dr. Etse Sika Anku, says the National Democratic Congress' (NDC) propaganda machinery cannot work against Alan Kyerematen much as it may do damage against Vice President, Dr. Mahamudu Bawumia.
Describing the 2024 general election as a change, the researcher noted that the Minister for Trade and Industry, Alan Kyerematen, is a clean candidate who can make a difference for the NPP and defeat NDC’s propaganda.
This according to him is because Mr. Kyerematen is “propaganda free”.
"When Alan gets in, he can present himself as a new candidate and 2024 is not going to be a referendum but a change election because by the 8th year people want something new," he explained.
Although the Minister for Trade and Industry, Alan Kyerematen hasn’t declared his intention to run for the flagbearership race, the astute lawyer is tipped to succeed President Akufo-Addo to lead the New Patriotic Party (NPP) to the polls in the much decisive 2024 general election.
Backing this assertion on Good Evening Ghana, Dr. Etse Sika Anku who doubles as the Director at the Directorate for Research, Innovations & Development (DRID), stressed that presenting Alan Kyerematen as the NPP's candidate for 2024 will help the party get the necessary numbers and needed vote.
"He is not a central player within the Akufo-Addo regime like the way that Bawumia is and so he can always make that argument that he represents a new face to the party and he has a different way of doing things," he added.
