Director of Communications for the ruling New Patriotic Party (NPP), Richard Ahiagbah, has accused the National Democratic Congress (NDC) of promoting a culture of panic and mob mentality in Ghana ahead of the December elections.
In an interview with Asaase Radio on Tuesday, May 14, Mr Ahiagbah expressed concerns about the NDC's alleged attempts to undermine the credibility of the Electoral Commission (EC) and sow doubt in the minds of voters.
According to him, the NDC's actions are aimed at ensuring that its supporters reject the election results if they do not favour the party's interests.
Mr Ahiagbah cautioned Ghanaians to be vigilant and outspoken against the behaviour of the NDC, as he believes such tactics could potentially spark chaos in the country.
He called on citizens to hold the NDC accountable for its actions and to resist any efforts to destabilise the electoral process.
“The NDC is creating this mob mentality across the country. They are all the time creating panic, trying to stampede the EC into becoming unsure of itself, whether or not they are doing the right thing.”
“To say that the EC is not doing something right by consistently shouting at it and making allegations at it and making sure that people believe constantly, their negative publications about the EC to be the fact,” he said.
