Davido has revealed that the money he had received from friends, family and fans on his birthday in December has been disbursed among 292 orphanages.
According to him, a five-man disbursement committee was set up to ensure deserving orphanages received their share of the money to operate.
In a press release on Tuesday, February 15, Davido noted that “since its inauguration, the members of this committee have worked tirelessly to ensure that they collate the names and information of documented and verified orphanages.”
“I am pleased to announce that the disbursement of funds is complete. So far, a total of N250,000,000 has been disbursed to 292 orphanages,” he added.
The ‘Risky’ singer said that he has a list of the various orphanages and attached to them is the amount disbursed.
The ‘If’ hitmaker, on November 18, 2021, received a total sum of N200 million after he jovially invited his friends and industry mates to send him money for his birthday celebration.
On Thursday, November 18, the ‘La La’ singer broke the internet as musicians sent huge sums of money from all over the continent to celebrate him.
Due to this, the award-winning musician amassed over N200 million, equivalent to $480,988, in barely two days as he intermittently shared screenshots of each transaction.
Adding N50 million, equivalent to $120,247, Davido announced on November 19 that he was donating the N250million gathered (equivalent to $601,236) to some orphanages.
Meanwhile, Davido says he is thankful to everyone that donated money to him. He also thanked his fans and friends for their continuous support and love.

“I would like to say a big thank you to everyone that made this possible, the committee of high calibre and principled people who dedicated their time to ensuring this task was expeditiously carried out, my wonderful family, friends and well wishers.”
