The CEO of 3Music Networks, the organisers of the prestigious 3Music Awards, Sadiq Abdulai Abu has been adjudged the winner of the Young Achiever award in the male category.
This was at the 6th edition of the Exclusive Men of the Year (EMY) Africa Awards 2021, held on October 23, 2021, at the Kempinski Hotel Gold Coast City in Accra.
Mr Sadiq’s contenders for the award included; Nigerian singer Mr Eazi, songwriter Richie Mensah, CEO of Premium Africa Holdings Farouk Khailann and entrepreneur Shadrack Osei Frimpong.
The EMY award is held annually to honour personalities who have demonstrated good values, distinguished themselves in their diverse fields of endeavour and are committed to societal progress.
Currently, Baba Sadiq Abu is the executive producer of the prestigious annual 3Music awards, the 3Music Awards Women’s Brunch, the 3Music Fan Festival.
He is also a media and entertainment professional who formerly worked for Modern Times Group (MTG) AFRICA as Viasat1 Ghana’s head of Programmes & own productions/executive producer.
During his stay at MTG AFRICA, Sadiq was responsible for the pan-African music channel, Trace TV’s operations in Ghana and spearheaded the launch of the Airtel Trace Music Star reality show in Ghana.Â
He has been in the media space for 16 years.
As the Former Country Director of Boomplay in Ghana, Sadiq helped the music streaming service to acquire nearly 7 million users in Ghana.
Mr Sadiq is also the co-founder of Muse Africa, a millennial targeted music, lifestyle & Entertainment brand where he served as the founding CEO of the brand from 2015 to 2018.
He also worked as an artist manager with award-winning Ghanaian Dancehall artiste Kaakie and Hiplife group, 4×4.
A regular entertainment pundit on Joy FM’s Showbiz AtoZ on Saturdays, he also served as spokesperson on tourism, arts and culture for the NDC in the 2020 elections campaign. Â
Sadiq holds a degree in marketing communications studies from the African University College of Communications (AUCC) and currently pursuing a post-graduate LLB education in Ghana.
