General Superintendent of the Assemblies of God church, Rev. Prof. Paul Frimpong-Manso, has launched a book on the history of the church titled: ‘Fire from the North’.
The event held at the Assemblies of God headquarters in Accra, was graced by renowned men and God and traditional rulers in the country.
The book, also an academic paper of the author, Rev Dr. Frimpong-Manso analyses how the church, which has made a lot of impact in Ghana, first started from the north and spread down south.
The author has painstakingly researched and interviewed people who played key roles in the formative years of the church.
Rev. Prof. Frimpong-Manso used the opportunity to express gratitude to personalities who contributed in diverse ways to making his dream of publishing his first book a reality.
“I wish this could have been done earlier but it’s better late than never,” he added.
He entreated Christians especially members of Assemblies of God church, not only to buy the book but apply the information in the book on their daily lives.
An auction sale of the book saw copies sold between GH₵500 and GH₵10,000.
The Chairman for the occasion, Eric Seddy Kutortse who is also the Founder and Chairman of First Sky Group, commended Rev. Dr. Frimpong-Manso for the efforts he put into the writing of his first book.
He promised to donate copies of the book to all student pastors of Assemblies of God church to serve as a manual.
Mr. Kutortse, also a member of the Assemblies of God church, bought copies for all members of his church.
